To the many that celebrated his radical move from racial separation to racial integration while in Mecca he was El-Hajj Malik El- Shabazz

To the young hustlers, drug dealers and prisoners he was Detroit Red a man after their own heart.
But to the Nation of Islam who birthed, trained and financed him he was a traitor who turned against them.
Who is Malcolm X?
Was he a man that could change directions on a dime, or was he a man that didn't have any real identity or direction?
This same Malcolm X could easily bend his knees to pick a lock to burglarize someone's home yet agonize for days to bend his knees to pray to God.
Malcolm as a thief could convince a man that had never stole anything to join in with him and also become a thief. But when he gets caught Malcolm changes and becomes a star witness for the prosecution against the same man he misled.
As Malcolm X he led many people to join the Nation of Islam and used his gift of gab to build temples all over the country, then discovered that his leader was human and had human failings and just as quick started a revolution against him, trying to destroying the same organization that he helped build.

Is he Apostle Paul, building temples all over the nation?
Or is he Benedict Arnold selling his Nation out over a woman?
Was Malcolm X a leader leading us to freedom or was he a loser, losing everything he built including his life.

He was whom ever you wanted him to be. He was all things at all times to many people.
But is that better or worse than being someone who is the same person to the same people all the time?
